Captain George holds a degree in Wildlife Management, and is the owner of North Country Ecological Services, Inc., an ecological consulting business that services all of NYS. Captain George is also an avid wildlife photographer, and has been providing educational programs on wildlife, hunting and fishing for over 20 years. He is a DEC certified hunter education instructor who teaches hunter, bowhunter, trapper education, and waterfowl identification. He is also the President of the National Bowhunter Education Foundation.
Captain George grew up fishing the Catskills from his uncle’s cabin overlooking the Beaverkill. There, at the age of 12, he was taught the skills of casting, reading water, and tying flies to match the hatches of the Beaverkill, Neversink, Delaware (east, west & main stem) River system. Since moving to the southern Adirondacks, he has used these skills on West Canada Creek, the Bouquet, Saranac, and Ausable Rivers. His skills and passions in fly casting ponds and lakes for warm water species such as crappie, perch, bluegill, pickerel and pike are well refined and applied to each guide trip for your benefit.
